The Knights of Columbus , Council 2521, Cardinal Gibbons, will sponsor a regional Holy Hour and Marian Retreat on Saturday, May 15, at St. Ursula Church.
Mass will begin at 8:30 AM, the Holy Hour will follow until 10 AM, then there will be a Marian Retreat until 2 PM.
The Northeast Pro-Life Cluster and St. Ursula's church will host a talk called The Missionary Image of Our Lady of Guadalupe. This Missionary Image is one of only 4 digital images that were made of Juan Diego’s Tilma in October, 2000. They are exact-size and color replicas.
Pope John Paul II asked Our Lady of Guadalupe “to visit” as a ‘pilgrim of faith’ each and every diocese, parish, and family in America” in a New Evangelization. The United States bishops entrusted this evangelization to Our Lady of Guadalupe. They said, “We entrust our commitment to giving birth with new fervor to the life of the Gospel in our hemisphere, to Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas She truly was the first Christ-bearer, by her maternal intercession, may her faithful sons and daughters be renewed and discover afresh the joy and splendor and promise of being bearers of the good news.”
The Missionary Image is blessed by Monsignor Diego Monroy, Rector of the Basilica of Our Lady of Guadalupe. It has journeyed throughout America.
The image travels to parishes in order to promote the sanctity of the family, solidarity of the Church in America, a culture of life and a civilization.
Free-will offerings and sales of religious goods are requested for the support of the Missionary Image apostolate.
