| Under Matthew is a winged man which represents Matthew's Gospel because his narrative traces Jesus' human genealogy. | ![]() |
| Under Mark is the winged lion which represents Mark's Gospel because his gospel starts with "The voice of one crying in the wilderness," and this suggests the roar of a lion. | ![]() |
| Under Christ the King is a cross and Alpha and Omega which shows the instrument of Christ's death. The Alpha and Omega are the first and last letters of the Greek alphabet and this represents Christ as the beginning and the end. | ![]() |
| Under Luke is the winged ox which is used because Luke emphasizes the sacrificial aspects of Jesus' atonement as well as Jesus' divine priesthood. | ![]() |
| Under John we see an eagle which is a high soaring bird and is used because John rises to lofty heights in dealing with the mind of Jesus. | ![]() |
